• The Ministry of Labor and Social Development reviews its electronic services in Asharqia Chamber

    Asharqia Chamber organized the extended meeting of The Committee of Women's Centers and Saloons on 26 November 2018 and was attended by a large number of women's saloons' owners and businesswomen.

    During the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development Branch in the Eastern Region reviewed the range of services provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development through its electronic website such as the information services of the establishment, as the information contained in it relating to the address, licenses, employment and the name of the owner of the establishment, and services related to employment, whether related to career change, transportation or absentee reports, in addition to the services of labor transport, recruitment, parallel settlement and other services carried out electronically.

     

    The Director of Customer Service Branch of the Ministry of Labor in the Eastern Province, Abdullah bin Ahmed Altwaijri, considered that the lack of validity of the activity on the Ministry's website is like providing incorrect information to the government, which is a violation that is based on the cessation of services to non-committed enterprises.

    He pointed out that there are field inspection visits to control the violating facilities and the application of sanctions against them.

    He stressed the importance of providing clear title of the facility for the ease of the inspection process and other operations.

    He pointed out the importance of informing the owners of enterprises on the work system in order to preserve the employer's rights fully, and that the Ministry works for the employer and the worker at the same time.

     

    Al Tuwaijri introduced the electronic services package provided by the Ministry of Labor, which will develop the interfaces of the electronic services portal and facilitate the procedures of opening and following up the establishments, including the employment services and the change of profession and transportation.

    This aims to support entities that are unable to meet the requirements of Saudization by making a social contribution through paying a calculated fee based on the number of Saudis the facility needs to upgrade in Taqat program, and the Human Resources Development Fund is used by Saudis job seekers only.

    Al Tuwaijri added that there are many other services provided in the website such as a border transfer service, which is a service enabling enterprises to issue a limited work permit that is limited only for the purpose of transferring a service that exceeded the period of entry into the Kingdom by 90 days without being issued a work permit, and the Saudization Certificate Service that is available to establishments that achieve the required Saudization rates according to Netaqat Program.

     

    As Tuwaijri noted, the site provides a Wages Protection Service, which monitors the disbursement of wages for all employees of the enterprise.

    It aims to establish a database containing up-to-date information on pay processes for private sector employees and to determine the extent to which enterprises pay wages in a timely and agreed-upon manner.

    He referred to the review of the status of complaints, objections and settlements on labor violations.

    It is a service through which to inquire about the violations recorded against the establishment and also entitled to the employers or owners of authority.

    An objection shall also be filed against any violation within 30 days from the date of issue of the violation and a request for settlement within 5 days.

     

    Furthermore, the Chairperson of the Committee on Women's Centers and Saloons, Shuaa Alduhailan, said that the sector of women's Centers and Saloons is one of the most attractive sectors of women's investments because of the availability of many elements of success, as well as the overall economic cycle on the female component alone,

    She pointed out the serious steps taken by the government to improve the working environment of Women's Centers, such as reducing the requirements for obtaining licenses women's saloons, which limit the recruitment and trend more to the use of qualified local cadres, in addition to raising the value of commercial activity to a large extent.

    She stressed the importance of standing from time to time on the reality of Women's Centers in terms of identifying their strengths and weaknesses, as well as to identify the challenges they face, and research solutions in the future, especially in light of the current economic trends; where work on the localization of the sector to maximize its role in the national economy.​
